Parker & Lane: Twisted Minds

Restore Law and Order

View

If you just can’t get enough of glossy crime dramas like CSI and Law and Order, you’ll almost certainly fall hard for this equally slick investigation game.

Twisted Minds has an engrossing story with more turns than a corkscrew, and it manages to transform the more difficult, boring parts of a detective’s job into a fun game of efficient time management.

From crime scenes to the police station and the forensic lab, it’s your job to run around and make sure everyone’s doing theirs. No one likes to be kept waiting, and you’ll need to give everyone something to do before they lose interest – and you lose valuable points.

You’re the boss of the crime scene in Twisted Minds.

As resourceful rookie Parker, you’ll guide forensics team members to yellow evidence markers, handing them magnifying glasses, tweezers, swabs and specimen jars, before dashing over to take notes once they’re done.

Down at the station, meanwhile, you’ll send twitchy suspects to private interrogation rooms, grab photos for witnesses to leaf through, and even get them a snack or a drink from the watercooler.

It’s all about keeping a cool head when things get busy, and getting your priorities right. When you’re on a roll, it’s incredibly satisfying – particularly when you get bonus stars for doing jobs quickly.

In between crime scenes, there’s plenty of personal drama in the game’s story.

Getting that all-important three-star rating often involves going beyond the basics, like finding a cheeky mouse who pops up at every scene or keeping your impatient boss up-to-date.

If that wasn’t enough, some activities involve short mini-games – you’ll need to quickly test pH levels, focus your camera to take crystal-clear crime scene photos and even pinpoint bacteria under a microscope in the lab.

With a streak of knowing humour that pokes fun at the conventions of the genre, Twisted Minds story is as witty as it is gripping. If you’re on the move as often as Parker, this is the perfect way to get your procedural fix.
