Co-operative mission chaos among the stars.

Spaceteam

Cooperative shouting game

View

While many games put you in your own little bubble, Spaceteam is different. It throws you into social situations where you’ll frantically jump from one foot to another, screaming at your friends to be better. This co-operative experience is all about playing together, calling out commands to your pals while they call others back at you – all while trying not to blow yourselves up!

What we love: Spaceteam’s enthralling gameplay starts with a randomised cluster of switches, buttons and dials. As you attempt to follow the commands popping up on your individual control panel, you’ll be filled with a mixture of excitement and stress. And screams.

You may find yourself yelling: “Asteroid incoming! Flip your phone. Now! Gary, I SAID NOW!”

Quick tip: Gameplay can get quite chaotic while you’re navigating a complex workstation. So after your ship inevitably explodes a few times, take a breath and strategise with your team on how you’ll effectively communicate instructions to each other. And don’t forget to look up from your device at your teammates every now and then!

Meet the creator: Inspired by science fiction, Henry Smith of Canadian studio Sleeping Beast Games created Spaceteam in 2012 as a way to learn how to code. Since then, Spaceteam has gone on to win awards and delight players worldwide with its frantic and hilarious gameplay – there’s even a tabletop board game version.
