Bangladesh is a country of diversity and equality. Our nation is a multi-religious, multi-ethnic and multi-lingual nation of over 160 million people. All citizens freely and peacefully practice their religion, a right guaranteed by the Constitution of Bangladesh. The Ministry of Religious Affairs is working tirelessly to establish peace and harmony among all religious groups. ECNEC meeting held on 28/03/2017 approved the 1st Amended Proposal of Islamic Foundation's "Masjid Based Children and Mass Education Program-6th Phase" program following instructions were issued:
"We need to raise awareness against the rise of militancy and terrorism in the name of Islam in the country. Ministry of Religious Affairs and Islamic Foundation will take necessary initiatives".
Following this directive, the Parliamentary Standing Committee has directed the Ministry of Religious Affairs to adopt a project to promote the activities of the Ministry of Religion. In view of this 'Enhancing Religious Harmony and Awareness Project-ERHAP' has been adopted.
