Application have limited functionality for free, you don't have to pay any money to connect to your TV and use basic features of application. You can use touchpad, all navigation buttons, on/off tv, photo cast and ect.

Further more the cheapest plan is 1.99$ per week, and it's just a cup of not the greatest coffee.
