My Star Rising 4+

My Star Rising helps to increase vocabulary knowledge for beginner and early intermediate proficient English language learners. This app was created by a former English as a Second Language teacher!  

My Star Rising includes four games, so learners have fun and stay motivated while learning new words. Bingo and Star Fall measure learners’ accuracy skills and Word Race and Bubble Pop are timed games that measure learners' fluency skills.  

Vocabulary words used in My Star Rising are animals, body parts, classroom (school supplies and classroom furniture), clothing, family, feelings, food, transportation, and verbs.  

Throughout the app, directions are both spoken and displayed in simple sentences making it easy to use and understand. All displayed words are at a kindergarten to first grade reading level. In addition, authentic language is used throughout the app helping to develop learners’ language skills. Cute images as well as animations make My Star Rising fun to play!

One of the best features of My Star Rising is that users are able to customize each game by choosing vocabulary words to be played, therefore, tailoring each game to learners' needs.

At the end of each game, English language learners are able to practice unknown words. A number based score is displayed as well as a star based score, so learners are able to measure their vocabulary knowledge and progress.

Responses and scores are recorded and saved for each English language learner allowing learner's progress to be measured and tracked.
