The Buzz section of the App provides an outlook on investor activity and sentiment for stocks discussed on social media. There are two primary sources for social media posts: Twitter and Reddit. We refer to this as our social "scan." Every day we continuously gather data from the Twitter and Reddit APIs and search for posts relevant to the tickers in our system.

Our sentiment classification model evaluates whether a social media post is negative, neutral, or positive, assigning a corresponding probability to this rating.

The sentiment score in the application is based on two factors: probability (of being negative, neutral, or positive) and the activity (the sum of likes and shares for a particular ticker symbol). Post activity acts as a filter so that only popular posts are shown. A weighted average is then applied based on the probability that these posts are positive, neutral, or negative. Therefore, the resulting sentiment score reflects a ticker symbol's popularity and sentiment at any given time.

Solinvestor features investors' social activity and sentiment regarding 'popular' and 'disruptive' technologies companies. Solinvestor also provides relevant news/events/YouTube videos explaining investor social activity and sentiment changes.

Users get a personalized info stream for securities marked as favorites or added to their portfolio. This stream consists of sentiment, social media mentions, and associated news for every ticker. We consider both the popularity of the information among similar users and each User's preferences using source type, text length, and other parameters.

Our 'enhanced' news stream uses input from companies in the User's favorites list and portfolio and provides recent news for competing companies (ex., within the same industry). The Solinvestor algorithm focuses on information for competitors, which is the most current and popular on social media.

Users can perform in-depth research for any ticker on the Ticker page. Stock charts, key market data, social media sentiment, and recent relevant videos from YouTube are provided here. The User can also review investment ideas summaries on the Ideas page, which are collected and processed from sources like YouTube and blogs.

When users want to take action on the information they've learned from other sections of the App, they can - trading simulation is also included. Users can virtually buy and sell securities in the trading simulation section. They can also monitor their portfolio performance over time.
