Venture North is a group (founded in 2012) focusing on the promotion of tourism throughout Caithness and Sutherland, with a grass roots collaborative ethos.

If you are visiting this beautiful, most northerly part of Scotland then this is an essential app for you. Discover our three magnificent coasts, the vast open spaces of the Flow Country, and see the west in all its mountainous grandeur. Whoever you are and whatever gets your pulse racing, you will find a region rich in leisure opportunities. Go surfing at Thurso East's world famous reef break, or visit the northerly extremes of the UK mainland at Dunnet Head or John O'Groats. See Scotland's first European Geopark with its three billion year old rocks, spectacular mountains, and rolling hills in some of the wildest places in Britain. Unwind under the gigantic skies of our ancient land, and walk in the footsteps of our Norse or Pictish ancestors whose enigmatic architecture graces the landscape.

This app will guide you on your way around the tourist and heritage sites of the far north. Using the GPS facility of your mobile device will help you locate interesting locations nearby, and help you to find them easily.
