After a painful setup process, I've had the distinct pleasure of experiencing the myNISSAN app, which promises to connect me to my car. A promise it fulfills with the reliability of a dial-up modem in a sandstorm.The onboarding is a true test of patience. It’s like a rite of passage where you prove your dedication to the Nissan brand by enduring endless loading screens and registration errors. Once you're in, you're greeted with a masterclass in slow, frustrating connectivity. The app's defining feature seems to be its ability to say "door open" at every opportunity. Want to remotely start your car on a hot day? The app will thoughtfully take 2-3 minutes to load before informing you that your request has failed. It's a suspenseful game of "will it or won't it?" that you'll lose every time.And for this spectacular performance, Nissan has the audacity to ask for a subscription of 140 SAR a month. It’s less a subscription and more a donation to a developer who clearly ran out of budget for bug fixes and decent servers. For the price of a fancy dinner, you get the privilege of a glorified odometer check that only updates when it feels like it.I'm starting to think "NISSANConnect" is a clever joke. The app connects you to nothing and leaves you stranded, scratching your head. My car's physical key has better "connectivity" and "remote features" than this app. Do yourself a favor and save your money. The only thing this app truly connects with is my disappointment.
