I love this app, it has everything you need, a lot of options for tools and colors, and drawing with a stylus feels as realistic as traditional art.Why the low rating then? Because there are three features that work by touching the screen, while drawing I sometimes rest my hand on the screen or touch it by accident, which causes these things to happen:- It either duplicates the color my hand happened to touch, which may not be a big deal since you can just get back the color you were using from the pallette, but what I don’t understand is why doesn’t this feature has its own tool on the menu instead, it’s not a feature you’ll be using constantly, it doesn’t need quick access by touching the screen!- Another feature that works accidentally by touching the screen is switching between pen and eraser. This one is very annoying because it happens a lot! Also the tools are on the menu and there’s already quick access to them by tapping on the stylus! Having this happen every time my hand touches the screen slows down my work and interrupts my rythm!- But here’s the absolute worst one, undoing! often times by simply touching the screen it undoes the last thing I did, it is very frustrating because sometimes I’m zooming in to a different portion of my drawing, so I don’t realize some part was undone and requires me to do it again until I zoom out! It’s even worse when the last thing I did was go on a different layer, my hand touches the screen so it undoes that and gets me back to the previous layer, and there’s no way of noticing it! So I spend time and effort drawing and only find out I was on the wrong layer when it’s too late!Who though it was a good idea to use these feat ures by touching the screen?! It’s not a reliable way to use them since they already have quick access on the menu, all this causes is accidents that make drawing on this app painful and irritating!
Hi Classy Potato – making some adjustments to the Gesture control settings in Procreate may make things easier for you. Head to Actions (wrench icon) > Prefs > Gesture controls and start with General. Try enabling Disable Undo and Redo. This should prevent your hand accidentally invoking these gestures when touching the screen and you will be able to continue to use the Undo and Redo buttons on the Sidebar. It sounds like Eyedropper may also be invoking, so check which setting is enabled in Gesture controls for this and disable any settings that aren't working for you. If you're using the Apple Pencil (2nd generation) and are accidentally double-tapping the Apple Pencil as you adjust your grip, make sure the Apple Pencil double-tap settings are disabled in Gesture controls as well as in iPad Settings > Apple Pencil. Let us know how you go after making these changes. ☺️
