Subscriptions will be charged to your credit card using your iTunes account. Your subscription will automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during active subscription period. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription. • BARREL ROTATION (APPLE PENCIL PRO): Apple Pencil Pro now has a gyroscope which allows you to rotate the Pencil for precise control of pen and brush tools. As you turn and twirl your Apple Pencil Pro while drawing in Astropad Studio, the brush you’re using also turns. Note that barrel rotation needs to be activated for most brush sets.

• SQUEEZE GESTURE (APPLE PENCIL PRO): With the new Apple Pencil Pro, you can squeeze the sides of the Pencil together to activate shortcuts. This gesture can be customized in Studio’s Shortcuts panel to quickly switch between your most-used tools while drawing in desktop creative programs.

• ADAPTIVE IMAGE RENDERING: LIQUID is our proprietary video compression engine that powers Astropad Studio. With this update, LIQUID now renders images using Adaptive Image Rendering — an advanced algorithm that balances fast and high-quality video compression. You’ll notice 53% clearer image quality during high-motion content.

• CURATED SHORTCUT PRESETS: The Studio sidebar now has shortcut presets that are curated for an expanded list of apps. When you launch these apps with Astropad Studio, the sidebar will display shortcuts that are specific to the functions of each these apps: Krita, Inkscape, Medibang Paint, TV Paint, Plasticity 3D, ArtRage, Aseprite, Leonardo, Photoshop (updated for 2024)

HOW TO UPDATE YOUR APP:

1. Update your Studio desktop app: Open the Astropad Studio desktop app (on your Mac or PC). You will automatically be prompted to update to the latest version. If the desktop app doesn’t automatically update, you can download the latest version at https://astropad.com/app-downloads/studio-download/.
2. Update your Studio iPad app: Visit the iOS App Store to update your iPad app.

Great! Different then paper but almost the same. The closest you can get at the moment. This makes my work in process easier.

Värt priset, ger din iPad Cintiq-krafter

I och med Astropad Studios lansering blev iPad Pro i princip likvärdig med en Cintiq-ritskärm. Oavsett om det är över wi-fi eller USB-koppling flyter det på fenomenalt bra, arbetet är inte bara enklare utan även roligare. I alla fall i mitt fall så upplever jag dessutom mindre lagg än på min 16 000-kronors-Cintiq (den är dessutom omsorgsfullt kalibrerad och ansluten med sladd) och tack vare genvägarna och gester på iPad är det numer inga problem att göra professionella uppdrag på iPaden.
Full pott, ser fram emot vad Astropad-gänget kommer att göra härnäst.

Ni som tvekar på grund av priset kan med fördel skaffa Astropads billigare app för en engångssumma. Jag sparar pengar på att använda Studio, och tycker personligen det är värt pengarna – men Astropad Standard är i och för sig själv en mycket, mycket bra applikation.

Dream come true

This is one of the most polished and gorgeous piece of software I have seen on any platform. The drawing experience is flawless, even on Wi-Fi. The side menu and magic gestures are incredibly functional and look great. The fact that you can draw on your iPad Pro using desktop software makes this a true Cintiq replacement. Here are a few more reasons why it is even better than Cintiq:

1. No Windows.
2. The iPad Pro has a much better display.
3. The magic gestures and side menu are context based, which means Astropad Studio is can adapt and give you different toolsets that are tailored for the current application.

It is so rare to find an app that makes both the Mac and the iPad better, but this is exactly what it does. It empowers the iPad with desktop software and lets you experience the Mac on a touch device. Thanks to the developers for crafting something so magical.
