AudioNote—Note+Voice Recorder 4+

This app will create audio files that you cannot use if you do not have the app. It is even impossible to convert the format into mp3 or the like. Too bad.

This is a well-working, useful app. I do a lot of interviewing in my work, and I need to be able to transcribe them verbatim. I have only used the board mic on my Macbook yet, and it flawlessly records even weaker voices. Live during recording the interviews I take support notes, that Audionote timestamps. This way I can later go back to the most intersting parts later, as clicking on timestamps takes you to that timestamp in the recording. When transcribing I have found that the best way is to listen to a few seconds, then pause and write that down. Then I resume for a few more secs. Sometimes I need to go back and relisten. I may then use the rewind button, that takes me 15 secs back in time. The app gives you also the opportunity to adjust if you want to be taken to a few secs borfore or after the actual times - useful, as you are often a few seconds behind the actual audio with your words. The other way is to use the hand button to point at specific words in your transcription, this takes you to that particular word. Useful when you may have long sections of text between a timestamp (every Return gives you a new timestamp (paragraph)).

The parts where I'd like improvements is the useability around these mentioned commands. Keyboard command shortcuts would be extremely timesaving, as it takes a lot of valuable time to use the mouse all the time for clicking: play, pause, rewind, play, pause, hand tool, text tool, etc.

How can anyone do wih out the features in this app?
The time synchonising of sound, writing, drawing and diagram making in one same program is extraordinary helpful.
Saw a warning among the ratings i AppStore that you can’t transform audiofiles to mp3. That’s wrong I do it all the time. Works both ways.
I also make recordings by an ordinarey mp3-recorder and transfer then into audionotes for transcription afterwards. Very useful and it works fine.
I had a problem with printing, the program crashed every time. But that’s okay now. If the bug has been fixed or it’s my new printer, I don’t know.
