What is Bird?

Unlike multi-currency apps or domiciliary accounts out there, Bird is a fully featured US bank account for non-US residents (Africans) and a cross-border payment platform. Its deposit is fully protected by US government’s Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

US Checking Account and International Debit Card:

By opening a US checking account, you can make international payments easily, live your life in dollars, and protect your money from devaluation. You will receive a debit card that will allow you to make purchases and withdrawals all over the world.

Wealth Building Account:

Allows you to save in dollars and earn high yield returns on your balance with no additional fees or hassle. We are building a dollar denominated banking products for the emerging market.

Cross-border and P2P Transfers:

It is simple to send money across borders. You can send and receive money directly into bank accounts as well as to and from Bird users.

Account Consolidation:

You get to manage all your bank accounts or cards from a single app, saving you the trouble of carrying multiple cards, as well as the time and stress of navigating multiple mobile apps to complete a transaction.

Bill Payments:

You can pay for utilities, airtime top-up, and TV cable subscriptions. Bird can also be configured to handle payments automatically.
