Full disclosure:

I have had someone highlight to me that it is misleading to call what is effectively a Intervalometer function a Timelapse function. I want to do everything I can to rectify this, so I am updating the app to refer to the functionality as "Intervalometer" (capturing the images for a Timelapse) instead of "Timelapse" (the actual creation of an output video).

More exciting things coming to Camrote soon!

Usefull

I like this app but I miss one thing. Is there a way to activate ClearImage Zoom or Digital Zoom? I use my Sony A7III for streaming/webcam and it would be great to be able to remote control this function.

A little better

I have downloaded the app and I can say that it works pretty well. It’s a better option for app from Sony.
Is sad that my Sony A7iii hasn’t the touch focus function. The funny thing is that A7ii witch is an older camera has it and it works.

I was happy to see that the app has focus stacking but because it’s using touch focus it doesn’t work on my A7iii. I would love to see the focus stacking function implemented on another way that using touch focus.

Thanks for the review! It really is a shame that Touch AF was removed on the a7iii as I have the same problem with my two test devices (a7ii and a7iii). I imagine Sony removed it because they were having difficulties with it interfering with the touch screen they added to the cameras, but there are no excuses really!

Unfortunately there is no other way that Sony provide to control the focus distance so we’ll have to wait and see if they do anything in the future to rectify this! It would help greatly if you could flag this as a concern with them by emailing them!

Timelapse not working

How do I get timelapse to work? It takes 1-3 shots and then no more
