No longer great
Collanote used to be my favorite app for note-taking. I even liked it a lot more than Goodnotes! But with the recent big update it’s become completely useless to me. First of all, the erase to sketch feature only works with certain pens, like the fountain pencil I never use. And my favorite, the sketch pencil, has been left completely butchered! I used to have the size setting on 7, now I need to have it on 2. And it’s a huge difference between 2 and 2,5! Not only that, the graphics of the sketch pencil isn’t what it used to be. I have a Apple Pencil 1th gen, and find I need to press hard to get to the opacity it used to have despite having it on full opacity in the settings! And my favorite marker, the realistic marker, only works with certain pens and not with (you guessed it) my favorite sketch pen. I’ve tried reinstalling the app, losing all my notes in the process, to no benefit. It’s been months since the huge update but no fixes to these. Losing my two favorite pens, not having the ability to erase to sketch, has left me to uninstall the app and go back to paper. I wish I could have the old version back or that I never updated the app. I was happily content with it and don’t feel like the new features give me anything. Like the only thing I felt was missing in the free version was to be able to color code the maps. Which is still a paid feature unfortunately.
