Cookie pop-ups are designed to be confusing and make you 'agree' to be tracked. This add-on automatically answers consent pop-ups for you, so you can't be manipulated. Set your preferences once, and let the technology do the rest!

This add-on is built and maintained by workers at Aarhus University in Denmark. We are privacy researchers that got tired of seeing how companies violate the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Because the organisations that enforce the GDPR do not have enough resources, we built this add-on to help them out.

We looked at 680 pop-ups and combined their data processing purposes into 5 categories that you can toggle on or off. Sometimes our categories don't perfectly match those on the website, so then we will choose the more privacy preserving option.

This release contains no feature changes but quite a few changes to the code-base in order to update to the new extension platform "manifest v3":

– Update manifest to version 3
– The extension automatically opens the preferences page once upon installation
– A warning is shown on the preferences page if required permissions have not been granted

The developers of this app are true heroes!

For years I’ve been frustrated with the cookie pop-ups every time I visit a website. If you actually want to not allow cookies for a website you essentially have to turn off 100 switches in a sub menu on the cookie popups. The developers of this plugin are actually doing humanity a fantastic service by giving users the control they deserve over their cookies and privacy by consolidating everything into one single easy-to-use page with just a few switches to adjust for all websites across the eternity of the internet. This app achieves what the EU tried to do but failed with. These developers are actually true heroes! My only improvement suggestion would be to have functionality and settings cookies enabled by default, since these are only used for functionality purposes on a per-website basis. Currently this is disabled by default, which will break a lot of websites and cause a lot of confusion (and frustration!) for less technical users.
