Ensemble Stars Music 12+

This is my first encounter with Enstars, & as I understood it this game was a sort of sequel? So I can’t compare this to any other Enstar games, I’ll review this on its own.
I also haven’t read that much of the story, I don’t have the energy to. I’ll probably read it later though. So I won’t talk much about that. I have just read the wiki about some characters I got interested in (Arashi, Mika, Mayoi, Hajime & Shinobu).
Other than that, I think this game was really fun. The tutorial was good & I quickly understood how to play, how to level up my cards etc.
The songs are catchy, I loved how they included a translation up in the corner, & the beat maps are fun to play too.
I liked that you could change the appearance on the notes, I had some trouble distinguishing the flick notes first so I changed the appearance to make them more different.
1 thing I don’t like is the hold notes. Sometimes they, I guess I could say fade out? & it’s not noticeable that the note is still there (this is harder to explain than I thought) but it seems like you don’t actually have to hold the note the whole time. So just have to hold it when it ends or is a note in it.
As a beginner, I think they’re generous with the cards, I’ve played for a few days now & I have a bunch of good cards without spending money. But that could just be for beginners & it gets harder to get good cards later on.
I also think it’s easy to save up diamonds to wish so it doesn’t feel like you have to spend hours just to scout.
I wish you could include the original characters in the MVs without having to sacrifice the points because you have to include a card of that character while playing. It makes it harder to match a voice with an appearance. I hardly know what most of the characters sound like because of this.
There are many different idol groups & characters so there is something for pretty much everyone.
I absolutely love the concept of many of the groups & I love to see how it shines through in the songs & the choreography.
The music they make are also different so there is or going to be a song you like unless you just don’t like music.
When reading the wiki on some characters, I was surprised on how real some of the struggles a few characters have. Like with Hajime & Mayoi for example, I haven’t seen that many medias including issues they have & I think they make the characters more relatable.
& 1 more things that positively surprised me was how long I could play without the game lagging or crashing. So far it has only crashed 2 times & I have played very frequently. Some other rhythm games I have played crashes after 2-3 songs & it gets annoying after a while. So I was positively surprised to find that I could do so many things in the game before it starts lagging.
Something that I personally don’t like but other people probably do, is the office. I don’t really like having a space to decorate like that, I’m pretty bad at it so I just tend to neglect those features.
That’s all I could think of right now. I hope you could give this game a shot! I’ve had so much fun playing this game so far.
