Din arbetsgivare Hadley Strange har sänt dig ett brev och bett dig komma till ett visst hus. När du kommer dit är det ingen där men du får en konstig känsla att vara iakttagen. Du ska gå därifrån men blir du angripen bakifrån och förlorar medvetandet. När du vaknar till är du inlåst i ett rum. Nu måste du ta dig ut och ta reda på vad som pågår. Vad är det Strange behöver dig till?
Om du spelat ”The Secret of Crimson Manor” så kommer du nog inte att känna igen dig, förutom att även där förekom namnen Strange och Crimson Manor och att det är fokus på samma allmängiltiga problem som sökes lösas. Men detta utspelar sig på 1800-talet medan ”The Secret…” är i nutid. Och än så länge ser jag inga andra tydliga kopplingar.
Dessutom är det en helt annan grafik och spelmekanik. Ettan påminde om FireMaples och Syntaxitys spel. Ganska enkel men effektiv till funktion och utseende. Medan detta mer påminner om ”The Room” och ”House of daVinci” i grafik. Det är alltså rejält mycket snyggare och stämningsfullare än det första spelet i Crimson Manor-serien.
Det lägger också klart upp för en fortsättning.
