Worth a buy?

I’ve separated this review into a good section and a bad section.

The good

I’ve used the app this developer made for Gloomhaven and it has allowed my friends and I to play the game with fog of war, which was fantastic. The scan resolution in this app has been improved as texts no longer suffer from blurriness the way they did in the Gloomhaven app. One should give credit where credit is due and this is a step up.

It is also great that this app can be shared between my different units so I don’t need to buy a separate copy for my iPad - the way I ended up doing with the Gloomhaven app.

The bad

The reason I am currently not giving a higher grade is due to the fact that the app interface seems poorly adapted to iOS.

A lot of the menu buttons off to the corners are really hard to interact with as they are somewhat cropped by the edge of the phone screen.

There now is a function to tick off completed scenarios, however there is no clear function to untick them if you for example ticked them by accident ( I found that there is indeed a box to untick when using the app on my ipad. On my phone however - which tends to be how I’ve used this app when playing with friends - this function is cropped by the edge of the screen.

While there is a way to display where the monsters should be set up for the different player counts, there is no way to completely remove monsters you’re not going to set up.

Ex. If I want to play a game for two players, the monsters for 3 and 4 players will still be displayed in the app and marked as “none”.

In the previous Gloomhaven app they would not have been shown at all and this was one of the better features the app provided - as there’s no need to show users information about things that are irrelevant to their game.

I have no doubt the creator will fix this, and when they do I shall be happy to add some stars to this review. 👍🏻
