Great scanner, mind-bending experience

Let’s Face it, there are a lot of great scanner apps for iOS. Is it just me, or do they all seem to use the same framework/library as each other?

Like, the one in Apple’s Notes app. Or the one that is used when you’re importing scanned documents to macOS from your iPhone that’s nearby. The built in feature that just works wirelessly all the time. It’s everywhere but you’ll easily spot it in a contextual menu by clicking on the desktop in finder, for instance.

Well. Scan Things is another level. It does objects and people — and I think it manages documents at least as well as Genius or Adobe Scan or my beloved Scanner Pro from reader (makers of Spark, the email client, abd Documents, the app for — well — a lot of things. It is at itscore a file manager, with fine media playback capabilities and insanely great things like the ability to wirelessly set up a real WebDAV file server, for sending or receiving files between iPhones, iPhones and iPads and iDevices and your Mac as well — with zero configuration needed or expected…).

But I digress. Scan Things is very cool. Premium has been purchased and if you, like me, don’t handle papers very well or just want to declutter your surrounding, you need a great scanner. Genius or Adobe Scan, or Readdles Scanner Pro… they are all fine. The built in one in Notes.app is fine too. But this — well, this is just excellent.👌
