Use the built-in mic on your device for tuning or connect directly via the headphone jack using an approved adaptor cable or interface.

Devices without a headphone jack can connect a pickup or mic using the lightning-to-audio adaptor.

Great! Been using this professionally for many yeats now (luthier). Great alternative to the Peterson hardware tuners in my workshop.

Everything you need in a tuner! Very precise and with lots of options. Excellent app!

Lots of extra purchases to get the full features

Nice app and all. However you have to spend a lot of extra cash to get all of the extra advanced features, this I did not expect. The bare bones purchase is basically just the strobe tuner. I checked this tuner out on my iPad Pro using a tone generator and just the internal mics on the iPad, and the tuner is bang on 100% correct every time. I also bought the extra “sweeteners pack” for guitar/bass because I wanted to try out the “sweetened tuning” ACU mode on my acoustic. This proved an unnecessary purchase as it made any tuning issue there was worse, impossible to get an open D to even remotely ring in tune. I guess this is a testament to the intonation of the guitar, which was a little surprising because it’s basically a dirt cheap Fender where the factory fret dressing left something to be desired. I use the standard EQU mode for this acoustic now, and it rings acceptably in tune to my ear. My plan is to use this app for intonation work on my electrics getting the Peterson adapter for 3,5 mm headphone jacks in the future. This I think will work splendidly.
