Great Apple-oriented magazine and app!

I've always enjoyed reading Mac Format, and in the old days, Amiga Format, in spite of the fact that British writers generally don't seem to know how to spell properly. I suggest they stop using spelling checkers and start using proper, modern dictionaries instead.

Be that as it may, there is always useful information to be had in the magazine as well as interesting news and reviews. The app for the magazine is nicely priced, 28 Swedish crowns for a single issue (I live in Sweden), so there is not much reason not to purchase an issue each month if you are interested in Apple's products.

The latest version of the app (end of December, 2013) has at least one improvement, and that is a major one: Downloading an issue is now an extremely brief process. The January 2014 issue downloaded and was ready to read in a matter of seconds, rather than minutes, on my iPad 2. I could hardly believe it! Kudos to whoever made that change in the app! I hope other magazines will follow suit in this regard. I read quite a few on my iPad, some of which take from fifteen to thirty minutes to download and install.

Room for improvement

The magazine Mac format has generally an interesting content, great that you can utilize technology to enhance the experience even further. However, there are some small annoying details. I use an iPad when I read the magazine and find that some elements are so small that the text is hard to read, especially the screenshots are often illegible.
A few suggestions:
That you can double-tap on the screenshots and other images that contain text so they enlarged to readable size.
Being able to turn the screen to landscape mode when necessary so that the magazine width increases.
Take advantage of the medium and make more video segments.
I also think you sometimes can attach a few easier "try out" applications in order to have a more interactive experience.
