Downloading maps doesn't mean they work offline
In preparation for my road trip I downloaded all the country maps needed in our trip. I know that mobile data can be shaky in certain areas, such as the alps and smaller cities in Europe.
Everything worked great until we hit a spot were I had no mobile data, and the app starts throwing me error messages saying that the map is not available due to connecting error.
It still tracked the movement of the car so it wasn't the GPS - so why exactly didn't it work? Fortunately we had a backup map, so in a sense I'm happy we didn't put to much trust into this app.

Very useful turn by turn gps app
The app performs ok even on complex intersections, although it does not anticipate a sequence of turns and lane changes. Occasionally the direction is lacking clear detail or alignment with road information. In general, the app will get you around fine even travelling through multiple countries, and is very easy to use.
