There has never been a better time to get into XMPP, a free public chat network no one controls or owns. Monal is a fast and user friendly way to use XMPP. Just download the app, login or register and you are ready to chat in minutes. It looks and works the way other apps do, so there is no need to “learn XMPP” or even care what it is.

A good app with a potential

To have a possibility to connect to several accounts simultaneously would be great, and the interface could be polished better, but otherwise it's a strong four star app.

Best mobile Jabber/XMPP client

Compact, fast, no user tracking.

Works sometimes

Loses contact with XMPP-server quite frequently from an Ipad. When typing in input area the letters in the second row does not appear until message is sent. The best is it is freeware which is why it gets its two stars rating.
