MyNextbase Connect 4+

Connection is a major challenge

I invested in the GW522 and a camera for the rear as well. The fotage is outstanding in quality; however is is almist impossible to read out video from the cams. Just getting the connection in place is so time consuming that it is pointless while on an accident scene.

IF (and that is a big if) a stabile connection to my always fully updated iPhone 11 is succesful, it takes forever to load the videos.

I have had this system for just about a year, and only once have I actually manage to pull recordings from the camera.

The two stars is anaverage. The video quality is really great, the app and its ability to connect ...not so much.

Do you have 'Dual Files' enabled on your das cam please? If so, then the low resolution and high resolution files will be loaded onto the app. The low resolution ones are faster to download to a mobile phone.
On your iPhone, go into Settings- MyNextbase- Background Refresh Data- Ensure this is turned on. If you see 'Location' this must also be set to 'Always'.

Then go to your MyNextbase Connect app and click on the menu in the top left of the app home screen. Select App Settings and turn on ‘Enable Low Resolution Downloads'.

Very disappointing

The 522GW is far from your first dashcam. I have tried many others too and this is by far the worst software experience I have had. I hope you didn't pay to have this app developed, if you did you should ask for a refund and get a proper developer to do it.

Connecting to the camera via the app is hit or miss, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Even if you do manage to connect the connection sometimes drops randomly as well, this is an experience many others on the internet described too. If you switch to another app and then back, the app is just locked on a gray screen and the only way to get back is to restart the app completely and start the connection process all over again.

Don't get me wrong, the 522GW is very nice, but as long as this app is in its current state I would not count this product as having a WiFi feature because it creates a lot more frustration than just removing the SD card and transferring the files that way. This was almost a deal breaker for me but I am deciding to wait to see if you fix the app or not.
