For serious podcast- listeners but has a serious flaw

Overcast is really The App for serious podcast listeners: smartspeed, the clips tool, easy to try a new podcast w/o having to subscribe and (unlike Apple Podcasts), and I don‘t lose the podcast I am listening to if I choose to hear another one before I finish hearing the present one (something that drives me nuts on Apple podcasts).However: despite all notifications being ”on” in the app and on my phone, Overcast doesn’t download new episodes automatically (yes, the preference is set to download automatically) nor do I receive notifications that there are new ones to download. There is NO support and the creator is pulling some Greta Garbo ”I vant to be alone” shtick and doesn’t answer mails. Having to open Overcast several times daily and wait for the app to check for downloads is a pain in my butt - perhaps Marco will come out of his diva seclusion and either reply or set about fixing the app. We can only hope. If that gets fixed, it is the quintessential podcast app.
