Ingeniously designed, Paper presents a powerfully modern tool for writing, drawing, note-taking and beyond. Sketch out ideas and whip up diagrams with a rich selection of responsive brushes. Using simple gestures, quickly annotate photos or transform text into beautifully formatted lists. It’s an excellent medium for capturing and organising the thoughts and images that you need every day.
Nice app but synch is not good enough, slow
An app I like very much in its simplicity. But syncing is scary as some books appear and disappear. It is slow, buggy and unreliable so I back up to photos. I should also be able to have a decent size output. I didn’t know I was making miniature art. Make the final output size printable to at least A4 size if not poster size.

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with Journal Sync. We'd be happy to take a look if you'd like to open a support ticket. In Paper, tap on the Settings icon top right then “Support”. On the next screen, tap on “Send Diagnostic Report”. An email window will pop up. Please add a detailed description of what’s going wrong in the body of the email. Once we’ve received your email, we’ll be able to dig in. Thank you for your patience.
Really hate subscriptions for personal tools
The subscription model for tools is such a terrible thing – especially personal tools. Hopefully, also the makers of this app will realize this soon. Until then, I will have to find other tools. Think I will go directly for Procreate. It’s more than a worthy replacement.
Also, the diagramming tools in Paper (at least in the non-subscription version) seems to have lost their touch entirely. Not even possible to make arrowheads anumore.
Text pages are annoyingly buggy: text selection, bullet formatting, typing experience, scrolling, …
…and using the Apple Pencil with Paper (even on the latest iPad pro) is embarrasingly ”laggy” — not at all like the super swift behavior in other apps.
