Immoral business model

As good of an app as this is, the way they lead you to believe you need to start a paid subscription is all but intrusive. As soon as you start the seemingly free app you are asked to initiate a seven day trial automatically followed by a one year fee subscription.

Regardless of however it is good value for money or not, the way they deliberately chose to design the app feels cheap and immoral. I get that it is following the trends, but it also made me uninstall their app.

Keep it honest. A good service does not need to trick it’s users to utilize it.

I understand that the whole subscription thing can be quite confusing to users who are not familiar with it. I'm hoping this reply will clarify some of your questions. PictureThis app, like many other apps, chooses to offer free trials to new users as an introductory offer for subscriptions. The purpose of this introductory offer is to allow new users to take advantage of the free period (7-day free trial) and get a taste of Premium before deciding to subscribe or not.

The free trial itself is completely optional and free. However, due to the auto-renewable nature of subscriptions, users need to cancel 24 hours before the trial ends or the subscription will start automatically. Deleting the app won't help cancel the subscription. Information about auto-renewal has been informed when you start the free trial as well as on the subscription confirmation from Apple.
