Pixelmator Pro 3.5.8 brings improved support for vector PDFs — including those created using Apple apps like Safari, Keynote, or Pages — now letting you edit text elements as regular text layers. The update also adds the ability to create freely customizable strokes around text layers and introduces a new Bento Grid template collection.

Text Editing in PDFs
• You can now import and edit text elements in vector PDFs as regular text layers.
• Replace, format, and style the imported text using your favorite Pixelmator Pro tools.
• Thanks to the advanced recovery of embedded text data in PDFs, original text content, fonts, and text formatting are retained.
• Even if a document contains fonts that are not installed on your Mac, you can still import them as editable text layers and replace missing fonts with other available ones.

Extended Support for Apple PDFs
• Enjoy editing text layers in PDFs created using Keynote, Safari, or Pages and unlock exciting new editing workflows.
• PDFs created from web pages using SF Pro font will retain their appearance and original typeface if this Apple system font is installed.

Customizable Text Strokes
• You can now fully customize strokes around text layers, giving you more creative freedom for styling typography elements in your designs.

Increadible software

Pixelmator Pro is an increadible piece of software. I have used Adobe's software previously, but with Pixelmator Pro you can probably do 80% of what you did previously, and it's easy to use — Adobe's software is not easy to use. Only miss notes I can add to the software, for social media. Highly recommended. Probably the best buy this year.

Awesome software for Mac

I just love editing photos and creating graphics with Pixelmator. Love the GUI, love the speed. Love everything BUT the poor PSD compability. You shouldn't offer PSD support if you don't implement it properly. I have probably never managed to import a single PSD file without the result being a MESS in Pixelmatior. But as a graphics software on its own PSD import exluded nothing beats Pixelmator.

Incredible but also negatively so

This software is immensely powerful, it could actually give Photoshop a run for the money in many cases. BUT IT DOES NOT SUPPORT DETACHABLE PALETTES. This is an incredible setback if you want people to switch from other professional graphics apps - the possibility to re-layout the interface is a MUST for anyone actually working professionally.
And I don't understand WHY this hasn't been fixed in the 5 years that this app has been out - especially since its predecessor Pixelmator had all of these really useful possibilities for adjustments of the interface. And people have regularly put this up for the development team as a wish.
Your app has the potential to be the best - so please fix this.
