Don’t bother with TorGuard if you value speed and/or support

I bought a one year subscription plus the streaming bundle (Netflix et cetera don’t work) and I’ve NEVER encountered such comprehensive disconnecting problems with any VPN provider, and I’ve used over 10 different VPN’s. TorGuard’s VPN disconnect each and every minute, and last up to 10 minutes which makes it useless.

When contracting the support they simply replied “I use our TG iOS app daily using our internal VPN IP and it has no issues keeping connected so this to me is more like your network, a firewall or maybe you are getting mixed up with the Auto-Connect feature (on demand) which will look like it disconnects when idle but when you use it connects to the VPN as soon as it detects any traffic”.

However, the VPN keeps disconnecting whether I’m on cellular, my home and work’s WiFi (and on several iOS, macOS and windows devices). The app just goes black trying to load without success. This is obviously a software problem on TorGuards end.

Additionally, remember the expensive streaming bundle? It turned out that TorGuard denies a dedicated IP on the northeast side of the U.S. because they “don’t have any locations there”, which I believe is untrue.

Hi, disconnections can happen for many reasons - it is just not possible to know exactly what is going on on the client side without proper debug info, if we cannot reproduce the problem it's very difficult to debug - your problem is not an issue we have seen any other reports of so we can ons assume it was a client side problem - however please try the newest build available with openvpn.

Slow connection

The connection is extremely slow and you can NOT access Netflix, Hulu etcetera.

Hello - connection speeds can be affected by many things - have you tried wireguard? streaming services are only accessible via streaming ip’s.
