Please fullscreen on external display with iPad

So impressive to be playing this on iPhone with such good graphics. And when I plug my iPhone in to my studio display it goes fullscreen. However this doesn’t work with iPad, please fix it Capcom.

Disappointing performance on 15 Pro Max

Although RE VIII is a good game, this port is a tad lacklustre and - in its current state - fails to bolster the image that has been promoted by Apple and Capcom.

The graphical fidelity is lacking - as is the performance - on the much touted 15 Pro Max. In fact, raytracing seems oddly omitted, despite the marketing material of the A17 Pro chip heavily featuring raytracing.

Perhaps the above-mentioned factors say more about the hardware under-delivering, rather than the port itself, but there are additional concerns.

It ought to be mentioned that the graphical scalability doesn’t offer any steady performance improvements, even when set to the lowest end of the spectrum. A consistent 60 fps cannot be achieved, even with all of the graphical settings set to their lowest values.

The 30 fps cap seems to deliver an uneven frame-pacing, so the experience ends up feeling anything but smooth.

Controls - with an actual, physical game controller, connected via USB-C - frequently feel sluggish when looking around and facing specific scenes and angles that are particularly intense to render, as input latency very notably rears its ugly head during frame drops.

FMV cutscenes are of too low quality - with resolution being low, sometimes exhibiting severe compression artifacting and color banding - thus breaking the immersion and illusion of somewhat seamless visual transitions to and from in-game cutscenes.

All in all - at this time, until or if the aforementioned issues are addressed - I’d suggest sticking with running the PC version on Steam Deck or a similar portable device, if you want to play RE VIII on the go.

I’m honestly in disbelief at how well it runs and that it’s running on a phone
