Use headphones as mic?

I’m trying to get the app to use the mic if the headphones. Can’t get it to work. I want to have the phone in my pocket and talk for an hour and have it all in text once I’m done talking. For that I need my headphones to be used as mic. At the moment I’m only able to get the app to use the interns iPhone mic.

At the moment I’m trying to use the air pods pro

If this is not doable. This app doesn’t solve my problem.
