ShutterCount displays the number of shutter actuations (the shutter count) of your Canon EOS, Nikon or Pentax digital camera - see the complete list of certified models below. The shutter count is read directly from USB or Wi-Fi connected Canons, and from image files for Nikon and Pentax cameras. With ShutterCount you can easily check whether a newly purchased camera is really new, or how heavily used a pre-owned item is. And you can save a trip to a service center by doing the reading for yourself.

Wi-Fi/Ethernet connection is supported using built-in networking or Canon transmitters on the above cameras having the "EOS Utility" function. The camera must be paired directly with ShutterCount using this function.

• Improved USB connection problem detection on iPadOS 17 and later.

Fixes:
• Worked around a bug in recent Canon EOS R5 firmware revisions that may lock the camera up if copyright information is updated while the camera's LCD is turned off.

Works as intended

The app does what it claims to do. I’m using it to check the shutter count on Canon cameras with wifi, and will try with USB only supported cameras as soon as I get hold of an adapter so I can connect the camera to my IOS device.

Not compatible

Did not work for my Canon EOS 7D Mark ii, waste of money 😡

As clearly described in the app description and our web page: "ShutterCount displays the number of shutter actuations (the shutter count) of your **Wi-Fi connected** Canon EOS digital camera." So you need either Canon's WFT-E7 transmitter or W-E1 card (the latter sold with new 7D Mark IIs) to make it work (also noted in the app description as well as on our web page). If you have issues using the app via Wi-Fi, then I'd recommend you to contact our support by tapping "Report a Problem" in the app's menu. We can't resolve your issues if you don't tell us.
