TouchOSC is a modular OSC and MIDI control surface for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad by hexler.

It supports sending and receiving Open Sound Control and MIDI messages over Wi-Fi and CoreMIDI inter-app communication and compatible hardware.

The application allows to remote control and receive feedback from software and hardware that implement the OSC or MIDI protocols such as Apple Logic Pro/Express, Ableton Live, Renoise, Pure Data, Max/MSP/Jitter, Max for Live, OSCulator, VDMX, Resolume Avenue/Arena, Modul8, Plogue Bidule, NI Traktor, NI Reaktor, Quartz Composer, Supercollider, vvvv, Isadora and many others.

The interface provides a number of customizable touch controls to send and receive messages:

Faders / Rotary controls / Encoder controls / Push buttons / Toggle buttons / XY pads / Multi-faders / Multi-push / Multi-toggles / Multi-xy pads / LEDs / Labels / Time & battery displays

Additionally the program can send Accelerometer data. The application comes with example layouts and completely custom layouts can be constructed using the free TouchOSC Editor application.

Underbar app!

Ren, enkel, kvick och smidig. Att göra egna template gör det pilligare, men originaltemplaten som finns är en mycket bra start. Jag använder appen tillsammans med Max MSP på dator

Bra för att vara gratis!

Då den är gratis så har många gort den till standard. På bra och dåligt. Den är enkel men jag kan sakna lite funktioner som betal OSC appar har.

I completely disagree with Mr. Andersson. TouchOSC is an incredibly powerful app and just takes a little patience to get started controlling your DAW. Try googling for help setting up TouchOSC. In my case, I am using Ableton Live. This is what I did and I found a few websites/blogs that offered A LOT of help. Try googling "problems connecting TouchOSC" and click on the search result "HOW-TO: iPhone TouchOSC + Pure Data". A very friendly person has explained Step-by-step how to get TouchOSC operating with Live. I am sure this is partly useful if you wish to control other programs such as Logic, Cubase, etc...or you can google for help with TouchOSC and those programs. OR CONTACT TOUCHOSC support maybe? Anyway, I'm very glad to be able to use Live's features remotely now. THANK YOU HEXLER GREAT APP!! Recommended if you have patience to get it setup properly. USE GOOGLE!
