闽南语主要分布在闽南地区和台湾地区,闽南地区主要有福建泉州、厦门、漳州。闽南语在大陆语言学的分类上，属汉语族中闽语的一种。闽南语在各地有不同称呼，例如在中国大陆常被称为泉州话、漳州话、 厦门话、福建话、；在台湾亦被称为台语、台湾话、河洛话或福佬话，在东南亚的海外华人则称为福建话或咱人话。
