App tracking is too sensitive or inaccurate

App always give inaccurate reading and tries to find something to penalise. Trips has percentage of speeding even when you are driving slower than most cars. Tried driving at average speed of 20+ km/hr with max speed of 48km/hr and app detects a braking event. Manual triggering of app also leaves the display on, draining battery. Just clicking to switch off the display or end trip before starting or after completing the trip will also be detected as a phone handling event.

Do Not Use Until AIG Fixes This App - Feb 2024

The app’s GPS tracking functionality is wildly inaccurate. It records short walks to the coffee shop, and spurious trips that makes little to no sense (e.g., starting from the middle of an intersection, starting from the middle of a car park and ending at the same point, constant trips less than 500 metres).

In the past, we had the ability to trigger manual trips, but it was removed in lieu of a tiny automatic toggle in the settings.

If AIG doesn’t fix this app, perhaps it might be good to consider another insurer that takes app development seriously, especially considering how this app plays a vital role in your premiums.

Inaccurate speed limits at various locations

The app used to be very fun to use, but recently the speed limits in their database have become inaccurate. For example, they set the speed limit for a highway flyover to be 50km/h, even though there is a speed limit sign on the actual road saying 70km/h. The app will conclude that you are doing excessive speeding and you get a low score.

They also set the merging speed from slip roads into expressway as 40km/h, which is also impractical. It is dangerous to merge into the expressway at such a low speed. Again it will regard that you are speeding excessively if you hit 60km/h in the above situation.

There is even a normal road with 3 lanes that is set to have a speed limit of 15km/h in their database.

Hi Wilson, thank you for your feedback. Speed limits may be affected due to GPS signals being lost due to various reasons: driving in area with high density of tall buildings, entering underground garage/tunnel/area, bad reception, device issues with location services, etc.
We can adjust the exact spots when you leave a feedback on the specific points of the trip on the app itself. Steps to follow to adjust: My Trips > Map > Select the point > Report Problem
