Revision of Listings Restriction

Have been using carousell for years now and with the listing restrictions, I will be on the lookout another app that can allow me to post and offload more of my things.

Honestly disappointed with how carousell has chosen to restrict the platform by so much by introducing such limitations. Especially for people who are not running business on carousell but has used it to sell / gift the things they no longer use, how do we offset the subscription fee? It takes away the value that this app has had, which is allowing anyone and everyone to easily sell, trade, buy anything and everything.

I saw your reply saying it is to filter quality of listings. I disagree. How does imposing subscription help to filter? We can use keywords to find what we need and the existing filters which are very good functions of the app. Perhaps it would be good for your company to rethink how to earn from the app. Or to provide more reasonable options for the subscription fee / for people who want to post more to offload their things which are also active buyers & users of the app.

We introduced listing quotas to prevent sellers from posting low-quality listings in the marketplace. As a seller, you'll experience fairer visibility of your listings—which helps buyers find desired items from a variety of sellers—and higher selling success!

Other than imposing listing quotas, there are definitely other things we can do as well, to improve the quality of listings on the platform and we hear you! We are constantly reviewing our policies to fit the needs of our users but in the meantime, we seek your kind patience and understanding as we work towards achieving the best Carousell experience for everyone! -Jessy

Poor Customer service

My account has been banned for multiple reasons and Carousell service kept changing the reason as to why I am being banned. I had over 450 reviews with all positive and a 5.0 score. First it was because I had unresolved transaction with a certain account, 2nd reason was because I violated the terms and service which they did not indicate then third it was that I am actually the “certain user”??? What even lol. There’s no actual help on this customer helpline and initially they said that I should resolve and appeal, now they say that I’m indefinitely terminated forever. Please do better, I have lots of official merchandise preorders and buyers that was ongoing. I can’t contact them as Carousell was the only way for me to drop them a message that their items have arrived. So is Carousell going to be responsible for this? Even if there is a pending transaction in that account, how is anyone going to resolve it when you log them out of it lol please think again. I’ve been receiving notification regularly still on my account but I can’t log in, this is really upsetting. I can possibly be labelled as a scammer since I’m unable to reply to my buyers. You allow people to sell counterfeit goods on the platform without banning them and now I’ve always been following the rules and regulations, I do not understand why I am being banned for unknown reasons. Shouldn’t you check this properly and give an appropriate answer?

Poor Customer Service, Poor App

My IP address was banned 3 months ago, because carousell claimed I had an “incomplete” transaction. I did not even know I had an incomplete transaction with anyone. I am a responsible seller, I mail all my orders on time and I only have positive reviews. I emailed carousell thrice, 3 months ago. I got a standard reply to all three emails saying “we are currently experiencing a high volume of enquiries,”. Such a good excuse. Till now, no thorough investigation has been done in order to unban my account for doing nothing wrong at all. The customer service is really poor. Carousell has a new HQ, shouldn’t the customer service be of a higher standard? I don’t think I am the only one who is receiving such poor customer service.

Another reason why you should not use this app is the massive number of replicas. Replica Bape, Supreme, Gucci, Balenciaga, etc. Selling counterfeit items is illegal. Are you (Carousell) supporting the actions of these sellers by allowing them to continuously sell counterfeits? It’s so easy to spot replicas. Gucci T-shirt for $30? Obvious replica. Bape T-shirt for $30? Obvious replicas. These people simply get these replicas off chinese websites for a few dollars and mark up the prices. Come on Carousell, do something about the replicas, do something about your poor customer service. I believe the company is better than this.

I am never using this app again, unless massive improvements have been made.
