my literal LIFESAVER

I’ve been using Clue for over 2 years now and realised I’ve become COMPLETELY dependent on it and no regrets 😛 The app’s prediction for when my cycle is going to begin is almost always 100% correct. I love the features of tracking other things during cycle- especially the level of flow and period cramps. I found this especially useful during my gynaecologist appointment- I was able to tell her my exact cramping pattern with such ease (I also realised that the pattern is very predictable and this helps me prepare)
Overall, this is a great app and I highly recommend it to all you women out there 🥰❤️

App has become way too monetised

In the past, we used to be able to track and see a lot of our information on clue, even read up on some articles regarding period health.

Over the past few years, all these have dwindled. The articles are locked behind a paywall (which is fine, it was extra information anyway). But now it is not possible to even track some of OUR OWN data like pregnancy movements and so on. Worse still, the app at least used to show how many days our cycles lasted for in each cycle. Now it doesn’t even show that anymore. It only shows the start and end date of the cycles we tracked. What in the world, the cycle length is the only reason I liked clue. Now even this is locked behind a paywall.

I’m quitting clue and tracking my own periods, either in excel or on another app. This is ridiculous.

Developer Response ,

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. We greatly appreciate your loyalty to Clue over all those years. The simple reality is that to continue to exist and to offer *any* services to our user community, we have to become a sustainable business. Having millions of loyal free app users like yourself only makes a sustainable business when those users are the product that advertisers and other third parties pay to reach. We don’t and won’t do that at Clue. So instead, our business model is selling premium subscriptions for value-added services - and that includes the deeper analysis and data visualisation of your unique cycle and patterns. As a free user, your tracked data is still all visible to you in your Calendar View, and you can request the raw data export at any time via trust@helloclue.com. Hope this helps, Clue.

Used to work well, but have been unreliable recently

I've been using Clue as my period tracker for years as it had all the features I needed — accurate period data analysis & predictions, notifications for upcoming periods, Apple Health sync & clean & intuitive UI.

However, in the past year or so, the app performance has gotten more bloated, laggy & buggy. Apple Health sync is intermittent & sometimes don’t work. Notifications for upcoming periods have been inconsistent & sometimes don't even work anymore. In fact, I've been receiving promotional notifications instead of notification reminders which I've been relying on for years — & I can't seem to turn them off or customise them.

Oh well, I guess I’ll just use the native Apple Health app or I gotta start looking for a new period tracking app. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Developer Response ,

Hey, we’re sorry that some features are still not back yet. For every feature we roll out or reintroduce, we’re making sure we do it right because it affects people’s health. We take that responsibility very seriously. Our team is working day in and day out to do all the proper research involved to deliver the most value in every feature before releasing, which sometimes takes more time.
We appreciate your patience. All the best, Ilaria from Clue.
