The summary of this update is as follows.
[Improvements, Changes]
- “How to Use” added to the File menu. This opens ibisPaint Painting Tutorial.
- Added “All except Eraser”, “Only Text” and “Only Frame” to the “Target Shape” options in the shape attributes window. Changed so that only the brush shape is edited when “Only Brush” is selected.
- Changed so that the description of Cloud Synchronization is now displayed in My Gallery.
[Fixed Bugs and Problems]
- Fixed a bug that the core line was displayed incorrectly during vertex editing for Circle and Ellipse shapes that have been converted to Curves.
- Fixed a bug that adding a Text shape to a clipped normal layer inside a folder would result in an incorrect canvas joining range.
- Fixed a bug that caused folders to be pasted in incorrect positions when pasting a folder with a Selection Area being active.
- Fixed a bug that caused abnormalities in drawings when adding a Vector Layer with “Add Vector Layer” for some brushes, such as “Outline”.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when undoing certain brushes used together, such as “Outline” and “Vector Felt Tip Pen”.
- Fixed a bug that after the automatic restoration of an artwork with the Vector Layer via playback, some layers and shapes may become abnormal.
- Fixed a bug that caused lines to turn white when editing and saving the vertices of brush shapes with brushes of brush type “Mono” and “Separate Each Stroke” disabled.
- Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented the opening of layer folders on the Layer window in animation artworks.
- Fixed a bug that prevented descendant layers from being displayed when a layer folder reorder was cancelled in the Layer window.

Very helpful!
Ibis paint was my very first digital painting app, and the user friendly features helped me to get used to it almost immediately. The tutorials and basic information provided was also very good in helping me to get used to the app. Ibis paint is also very easy to paint with, and their wide selection of brushes is interesting and also very good when you want to draw something quickly. It’s very good that you can download it on a phone or iPad so you can draw when your out or even travelling. You can also draw with your fingers, so there’s no need to buy a pen tablet. Younger artists like myself may have a certain limit on the amount of money they are allowed to spend on apps, so it is nice that ibis paint is free. I don’t mind the ads, but if that’s a problem for you, you can pay just a bit more to get rid of them. Their online gallery allows you to see the other artwork by people also using ibis paint so you can get inspiration. I highly recommend!
Beyond Expectations
When I first downloaded this app, I was wondering if it was possible to draw on my phone alone and produce an average drawing. It seemed pretty much impossible I had thought. For one thing, my hand was used to drawing with a pencil, not just the fingertip!
But the IbisPaint X allowed me to draw my favorite anime characters in no time. There are so many materials, functions, effects and other amazing stuff that I’ve lost count or haven’t even discovered yet.
There are some many types of brushes that I stopped scrolling to take a look and wonder; Are these really needed? Yes, they are for different circumstances.
In conclusion, like many others have written, IbisPaint is free unless you want the canvas to fill the whole screen. It’s a great app and I would recommend beginners to use it, same old same old.
I think that it’s great, there are so many colors to use and almost no limit. Once you find the color, it’s yours for an eternity. I found my digital arts better, more colorful and almost perfect compared to my original one. Because erasing your paper can leave a crease or some sort of ugly effect that you don’t want. Everything in the app exceeds my expectations, which is why if your looking for an app that can help you produce top-notch digital art, you’ve come to the right place.
Great, now I sound like I’m advertising the whole app. I do, don’t I?
Unexpectedly Good
When I saw my friend using Ibis PaintX, I didn’t wanna use it. I thought apps like Procreate and Autodesk Sketchbook were more advanced. But in fact, Ibis Paint is really good!
The thing is, I’ve found it so good for animations. But I have to draw each frame, lower each frames opacity for an onion skin and then bring it back up and save each frame to put into an animation maker (like Canva’s free gif maker), so if you could implement maybe an animation system like Procreate’s that would be SO USEFUL. I don’t even have a problem with the ads.
The animation system is something I would appreciate SO MUCH because it is such a hassle otherwise. But other than that, this app is as I said in the title: Unexpectedly Good! I really like it!
