“Japanese, Chinese, and English”
Official courses are offered for studying Japanese, Chinese, and SAT English. The Japanese courses cover the 6,000 most commonly used words in Japanese. The Chinese courses cover the 2,000 most commonly used words in spoken Chinese and over 1,200 words commonly used in newspapers and magazines. (All Chinese courses are available in both Traditional and Simplified Chinese.) All words have sample sentences and audio.

iKnow! presents items in a spaced rehearsal pattern optimized for efficient learning. iKnow! adapts to differences in learning speeds and item difficulty, constantly measuring memory and predicting performance across all of your items. iKnow! does this by tracking your performance and then predicting your optimal review time on an item-by-item basis.
All you have to do is push the study button, and iKnow! tells you what to learn.

Great companion app
Makes it easy to work through your current courses. The menu design is great, and it's very clear to me where things are in the app. App is responsive too.
Great for learning Japanese
This is mainly a flashcard app with a companion website.
This will help Japanese learners build their vocabulary with Kanji and listening and dictation. It also helps listening.
Tip - sign up at the website - it will cost less for the same 12-months subscription. The website also has a game called BrainSpeed which forces you to improve your recall time.
While this is great for learning Japanese, it falls short in other areas. There are limited courses to choose from. Currently there are only Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English. That means for a one-year subscription, you can't choose Vietnamese or French. (see update below)
Since this is a flashcard-system, there is no help for grammar, which means you have to know the basic grammar before you purchase the subscription.
For learning Kanji, the best way to to write the words by hand. This app does not offer that - you are restricted to typing your answers in kana. The REAL test of Japanese language lies in the Kanji, so this app falls short of being a perfect help.
Having said that, you will definitely find this useful if you're learning Japanese (sorry, I'm not learning the other languages offered), but you will need companion apps to complete your learning.

Updated - Sorry, there ARE courses for other languages (including German and French). You just need to load them from the website.
Great App
This is a great companion app for those looking to improve and expand their Japanese vocabulary. While some might be put off by the fact that you need to pay in order to fully utilise this app, to me it's worth every penny. Been a paying customer for over 2 years now.
