I used to love dining at Itacho but last 2-3 experiences there after the revamp just weren't that great. 1) we were asked to download the app to order. Like... Why? Why can't we just use the normal menu? I thought writing my own orders on paper was already a chore. What if I don't wish to waste my phone data and battery on the digital menu? What if I don't have a smart phone? What if I don't have sufficient phone memory space? I understand that the restaurant wishes to facilitate crowds by allowing them to order online through the app. That's great. But please don't make customers that don't wish to use the app to use the app. 2) the food quality control isn't as good..? It might be just me but the past 2-3 times, I've been seeing dropping of standards. I encountered bones and blood in my sashimi. Other times, food were over-cooked or presentation was lacking. I'm not sure what went wrong but I'm sure that before this revamp, I did not encounter such incidences. I was a happy customer (and my tummy was happy), despite hearing peers complaining about lousy service. I wish itacho could be back to how it was back then. It would be such a pity otherwise.

The e-service concept is a good idea for the restaurant.But personally, I feel it is just unsuitable to put the menu on a phone. The screen is too small to display the menu.Moreover, it is too much to ask the customer to install an app in his or her phone. I don't see much value added to the customer (not even any loyalty program) and it indeed takes space in the customer' personal handphone.Not to mention the system responding is laggy and interface is poorly designed.Honestly, I will uninstall the app straight away after the dinner. I would rather go back to the traditional manual ordering for better experience.

Decided to go for a meal at Itacho and ended up being referred to use an app to order items that do not in any way, shape or form help the customer or restaurant. There is no sped up service through using the app. Due to the bad UI, it is also difficult to go through the menu. As such, this renders the app useless and in fact slows down the ordering process due to the customer not always being familiar with the menu items. An unnecessary app and ordering through conventional means is a much better way. This is nothing close to innovation and is more of a step back and a hassle.

Actually this app is much better than to rely on the service staffs to take our order. Customers can order directly from it, unlike last time when we had to try hard to catch the attention of the staffs. May I suggest that you add a “help” function, as my credit card had long expired and I don’t know where to change a new card detail. Even the helpful cashiers I approached were unable to find where to edit the details.
