Editors’ Choice
Limbo is a gripping blend of stark, haunting landscapes, bizarre characters and unsettling sounds. With clever puzzle design, an intriguing narrative and an excellent touch-screen control system, it’s as rewarding to play as it is interesting to look at and listen to.
After so long
Good game. Looks easy but it’s hard. Story line a little too short. Would love it if it’s a little longer
This is how a 5 star game look like
For a game to get 5 stars, not only does it has to be good, it has to stand out.
The game starts pretty much just like that. No guides, no dialogues, no stories, no words... A simple start, you figured the controls, warmed up a little and soon you realized you have only got 1 mission - to escape. Although it sounds like there is a lack of context, Limbo actually manages to connect you with the game. In fact that lack of context is actually one of the best unique features. As you go along, the game gets tricky, yet not frustratingly difficult... Then, it ends... Just like that... Still without much context... But you will be sure you will figure the story... Not many games are as unique and as atmospheric as Limbo.
There are also no advertisements and no extra loading screens to distract you from the game. In my opinion that is a huge plus there.
The only downside of the game is that it ends quickly, and the replay value is low. Finding the cleverly hidden secret will take some time though... But for such a outstanding piece of art, the value is worth it.
