Macfarlanes trainee experience

We’re delighted to announce the launch of the Macfarlanes’ trainee experience, allowing you to complete mock trainee tasks whilst gaining an insight into our unique culture.

The programme has been developed in-house, and all tasks have been modelled on real work and created by our associates and trainee solicitors. The app will allow you to experience work from our corporate and M&A, finance, litigation and private client teams.

We created this programme because we wanted to make early careers opportunities at City firms more accessible to all, regardless of location and background. We appreciate that it can often be difficult to pursue vacation schemes or first year insight schemes, particularly if you have other commitments and cannot easily spend two weeks in London away from these responsibilities.

Upon completion of the Macfarlanes trainee experience you can sign up to attend one of our virtual webinars where our solicitors will run through their task from the app in more detail. These are an excellent opportunity to consolidate everything you have learnt and ask any follow up questions.

We also encourage you to include the virtual trainee experience on any applications you may then complete with the firm; for our first year insight scheme, vacation schemes or direct training programme. We hope that the app will provide a valuable insight into the firm and the work you could complete as a trainee.
