Great app for traveling
Great app for travelling as no data connection is required. It helps you get around unfamiliar cities without having to use data, plans routes and offers suggestions on things like where to eat or what to do in the area.
Update to 2.0 very disappointing
I loved it for personal and work travel. The colour coded pins and free text description fields were particularly useful. But the new update (2.0) deleted all that against my pins. The new interface is also slow and the app has crashed a few times whilst I was exploring the updated features. Implementation of this update without carrying over information / warning users that this would happen is exceedingly inconvenient and plain disappointing. If there is no update to reinstate the previous features, I am unlikely to keep this app and will need to shift to another map app.
[Update: The descriptions on my pins have been restored. There are some bugs related to pin colours / new pins, but it is generally fit for continued use and I am continuing to do so.]
Still lacking
Many places especially residential areas in NZ cannot be located after searching for the full address. Using the Lat and Long has some variance between Google Maps as well. Ads inserted in between is obscuring. Nonetheless routing is fast and the capability to add stops is good considering most navigation apps lack of it. If you intend to use this app for your vacation itinerary, I suggest that you save each destination in your favorites before travel otherwise you might end up stranded or costly to use 4G when this app can locate your search.

Our map data source is OpenStreetMap.org (OSM), it's like Wikipedia, but for maps.
Level of details largely depends on the region. Over the past two years there were a lot of improvements in NZ, but there is still much to be done.
You can help and improve the map by adding info via MAPS.ME editor or directly at OSM.org. We update the OSM data with almost every new release. Even if you make sure that your home address is present on the map, will significantly help.
The more people contribute, the more accurate and detailed maps we get.
