NETGEAR Orbi - WiFi System App 4+

I’m really impressed with how easy it is to navigate this app. Helped me setup my network with a few clicks. Even more impressed by the speed of my Orbi network now.

Set up is not difficult but need to have a bit of patience as it needs to do an upgrade of the firmware. Other than that it auto detects and makes life easier. However make sure you change the default password as it is a common password for same device. Coverage and streaming is good and family has stopped complaining. Also noticed that sometimes can get disconnected but it auto connect again so not an issue. One other good thing is that it can have option to monitor traffic and do several other things if you are interested. Would recommend it as it is a good product and quality looks good so far.

This app persistently asks for reviews! Annoying!

And the built in sped test.... what’s up with that? Built-in ookla test ranks u/l and d/l speeds of 900Mbs every time but only 5Mbps or less on the standalone ookla test. That’s the same tester!

But wait, there’s more! The built-in protection scans every 5mins or so... I now expect my device battery to be less efficient now with the constant scans. It’s good that it does (if it actually does), it’s bad that there’s no way to adjust the intervals... or at least I haven’t found it yet since the app keeps nagging for a review!

Other than that, UI is great and straight forward. No guess work for anyone with little to no experience. Features are decent with easy to understand descriptions. It’s made for the average user. Novice to expert level may want to go to the web based UI, except I’m not entirely sure if there is one since it kept nagging for a review.
