Good concept, but doesn’t work all the time
When it works, it’s easy and convenient for tourists as a travel card. But randomly and without reason, sometimes topping up the card fails and there’s nothing you can do about it.
No issue topping up and using it
This review is for my trip to Hong Kong in Sep 2023. I have no issues installing the app on my iPhone, topping up with my Singapore credit card and using the app for MTR riders and food and drinks at Octopus terminals. I also have no issues topping up more funds with my credit cards when needed.
Top up didn’t get through, but got deducted from linked credit card
😡 I tried topping up using the credit card linked in my Apple wallet. Tried once, the top up didn’t get the through. I thought it was a data network issue and tried twice more. Top up didn’t work. And then I found out my credit card was changed for the 3 x 100HKD that didn’t get to the octopus app !!!! 😡 😡 😡
