Smooth refund and cancellation of request

I chanced upon petbacker in May while looking for a pet sitter. And no, I did not read any reviews in the App Store prior to downloading the app and booking a pet sitter via the app. I was planning for a trip in December then.

However , my trip was cancelled and I needed to cancel the booking. Naturally I started to worry if I will get my money back. Contacts with customer service proved to be smooth. There is a notice that CS will reply us within 24h in the app. Within a week of my cancellation, my money was refunded to me.

I was so impressed with their service, I decided to leave a review here. It is only now that I started scrolling through the reviews in App Store that I am surprised to read of the handful of ‘negative’ reviews posted here.

I am not here to judge but only to share my experience with them. While some may not have good experiences with them, mine is definitely otherwise .

Honestly speaking, if I have read any reviews here BEFORE I downloaded the app, I would never have booked a pet sitter with them. But after my recent encounter with PetBacker, I would definitely use their service in future if the need arises.

Top Notch pet services app!

I was browsing for a pet service app and this came up first. After installing the app and doing all that’s required to go live, I was totally impressed with the details n ease of use of this app. New jobs are constantly flowing in and I really like it that it uses the barking ring tone as a default for job notifications! Within 2 days of my listing I was able to book 2 boarding jobs. The only thing I hope could be improved was the app notifying me if pet owners have book other pet sitters so I won’t be waiting blindly.

Bad user experience for boarding host

There are so many restrictions given to the pet host and customers are not responsive when an offer is submitted to their case. But yet you see customer constantly posting their case again and again Regulations and rules should be set to customers to reply to the offer sent so that both customers and pet hosts can minimise the time waste. And sometimes customers are the one who find the platform not user friendly which cause them to request for an alternative method of contact. Hence, user guide and policy should also be reinforce to them and not just the pet hosts, penalizing us for everything!

Whenever a restriction is violated your account will be “banned” from chatting and customer support are not responsive to help either. Hence you will lose the opportunity to take on cases that are suitable for you during that period of time that your account is banned which is so frustrating.

The whole process of setting the account and getting approved was already so tedious which i understand is for the better of the pet which we are going to board but whats worst is the user experience we as a pet host go through after our account gets approved.

Really hope the system can get improved to make it more friendly to more pet hosts out there.
