So I tried looking up GV Yishun on the Popcorn app because me and my younger brother were planning to watch John Wick 3 there today but the app stated that the movie wasn’t available at the particular cinema at all, which struck me as odd, to be honest.

When I went to GV’s website on my laptop and clicked on GV Yishun, they are actually screening the mentioned movie, not only for today, but for Tuesday and Wednesday too! And they have alot of timings as well for all 3 days.

Which left me wondering why the Popcorn app stated that the movie wasn’t available at GV Yishun at all but GV’s website said it is. Technical error perhaps? Please kindly rectify this, thank you.

Booking problem

The app have been working fine for me so far whenever I used it to check timings and such. However, the first time I used it to actually book tickets, I was unsuccessful. So I decided to switch the cinema I tried with the first time and this time my purchase was successful. However, after some time, I got an email telling me that the first time I booked was successful and thus I wasted money on two tickets as there were no refunds, all because I was initially unsuccessful in booking through the app.

The booking and payments are handled by the respective cinemas as Popcorn merely links to the cinemas' booking pages for your convenience. The charges are made by the cinemas directly so we unable to do any refunds. Do try contacting the cinemas directely as they should be able to assist you with your bookings. We appreciate your understanding.

showtimes didn’t show fully booked dates

all the while i’ve been using this app to book my movie tickets with no complaints until recently. i’ve booked a movie at shaw and without noticing the date, i happily proceeded to submit my bookings. it was only when i reached the theatre did i realise i’ve booked the movie for sun instead of sat!! not sure how many had encountered the same thing! the problem with this is that for that particular show, all the seats had been fully booked which is why the app didn’t show the seats for sat. instead, it showed the next day timings! i know i’ve shouldn’t have taken it for granted but well, if the seats are all taken for that day, there’s no harm showing them! the user can always proceed to the next day or other days if he/she wishes to. hope the app developer can do something about this.
