What’s New

Version 5.9.2

This update is serving up a bit of artificial intelligence. We've added a new Object mask to the app that is free for anyone to use! Object mask uses A.I. to detect the things in your photo to automatically create a local mask. It's an experimental feature, so try it out and let us know what you think.
• New: Object mask

Editors' Notes

Plenty of photo-editing apps come with filters, but Polarr can help you create your own. And you don’t need the eye of a professional photographer, either. Thanks to instinctive touch controls and a ton of built-in filters to use as jumping-off points, it’s simple to tweak your images to get the perfect balance of colour and light. For the shutterbug pros, Polarr goes deep and allows fine adjustments to saturation, lens distortion and a whole lot of other settings that we dabblers just pretend to understand.

Great Lightroom Alternative & More

Ever since buying the new iPad Pro, I have been searching for a Lightroom alternative that is focused on touch interface. Now, with Polarr, the search is over.

Does it have all of Lightroom editing functions?
Yes and more. Comparable to Lightroom’s presets, Polarr has its own set of presets, though it might require additional in-app purchases, they are much more affordable. Also, you are able to create your own presets and sync to Polarr account if you bought the PRO version. In addition, you can do selective adjustments, have the “Reflective option” which is new and intuitive color toning functions. There’s a good guide to teach all these in-app as well. Healing brushes, face tools, cropping, etc. This app just screams fully-featured in every aspect.

Can it export?
Many photo Editors for iPad lacks this exporting function. Polarr allows you to export with JPG with % quality, maximum length, etc. And this was not just for individual photos, but for batch photo exporting, made for the touch interface. This makes Polarr superior to Lightroom for iPad.

With just these 2 questions answered, I bought the app without thinking and it was good for Polarr to provide a free start to test the app’s interface which is essential for new iPad users looking at photography solutions IMO.

I hope others like myself will find Polarr as their replacement for Lightroom mobile or desktop.
