Unflexible. Quite disappointing

Other than the razer app hanging and breaking down mid way, unsuccessful transactions both online/offline and error in topping up razer pay wallet, ALL these were things I can forgive as a customer. But one thing I could not stand- I achieved the razer pay “challenge” of spending $3500 with my razer card and was very excited to redeem the mamba wireless mouse. Headed over to the razer online store only for the mouse to be out of stock. I waited for months and yet it was still out of stock. When I asked if they could change the redeemable product for me of the same value, the customer service agents were really understanding and willing to help. But at their capacity, they could not decide on their own so they pushed for the relevant team. Then the team said that could not be done. So.. why place the challenge as something available if the prize is out of stock? why are we not allowed to know when u are restocking? Why so unflexible when I am merely asking to exchange something of the SAME VALUE. So disappointed!

Disclaimer: I’ve used Razer Pay as my main mode of payment (where possible) for about a month. For a payment service, I would expect this app to perform 2 basic functions properly:

1. Processing payments
2. Processing refunds

Unfortunately, Razer Pay has random moments of outage that make payment impossible, and the app is occasionally hit with high traffic that completely renders it unable to load. Considering this is only the beta phase of the Razer Card program with limited users, it’s hard to imagine how the app will sustain more users once the beta ends.

Additionally, I have had refunds issued by merchants that have yet to be returned to my wallet. I’ve already submitted a ticket for these incidents, but have yet to receive any solution.

All these could still be acceptable if the app has an avenue for quickly contacting customer support and having your issue resolved quickly; but it doesn’t. You have to initiate a live chat with an agent, and if your issue cannot be resolved immediately, it will likely take days, which is unacceptable when it comes to processing transactions.

Until basic functionality of Razer’s payment system can be maintained, I cannot recommend this as your primary choice of payment.

Beware your Personal Data

Got 67 of my friends send their IC and passport photos after downloading the app to verify their account. Only 33 of them got verified, and that’s after multiple failed attempts and logging cases…and took a month. A few of them even have their accounts suspended right after they gave their personal data. This along with rewards bugs (not reflecting the referrals) was reported to Razer and they haven’t fixed it even after more than 1 month. The deadline came and leaderboard ended and they haven’t fixed the issue. So what happened with the information they collected?
They stopped replying after I told them it was unfair that They did not fix the issue yet still announced the winner. They purposely only verified 2 more users after The deadline. Yikes.
