Affordable but app is super buggy

It’s an affordable way to rent a car for a few hours or a day when u need it. The idea of the app is great but there are so many bugs. It’s unstable and it closes by itself. Can lock and end trip on many occasions. Was advised to restart app but this does not work. On one occasion, I spend 15 mins trying to end trip and was penalized for being late even tho I had the next driver as a witness. Promises of returning the money come easy but refunds are difficult to get. Use it cos it’s a cheap way to rent a car but be ready to factor in some additional cost as the app is Buggy and the Shariot team seems to have standard replies but I hvnt seen improvement with to it.

App needs to be clear and transparent. Quarter tank fuel requirements such as “must be at least 5 bars” are not clearly stated when picking up and dropping of the car. Even if this is stated elsewhere in your website or fb page, the best place to mention this would be in the app itself as not everyone will refer to the other channels mentioned above.

While I agree with penalty for leaving car with less than quarter tank fuel as a deterrent, the amount should be further tweaked. I unknowingly left the car with “4 bars” of fuel and got slapped with $80 flat penalty fee for the second time. If I known this, I wouldn’t have bothered to topped $20 worth of petrol earlier and left it at “1-2 bar” instead. The penalty amount would have been the same and I would have not wasted $20. $50-80 penalty would be justified if quarter tank rule is changed to full tank instead.

Users should also have access to the pictures they’ve submitted in case of any disputes. Either allow the phone to save copies of the pictures submitted or allow access of the pictures from the app for completed trips. At the moment, we have to rely on whatever screenshot is given by the customer representative without any further proof I.e. time stamp, etc.

Deductions of amounts in wallet for penalty should have a notification in the app or notified via email. Users will not realise that there is a penalty/deduction made until they check their wallet.

Car Sharing

I was contemplating getting a car again however after trying Shariot , i found this car sharing platform to be very user friendly plus i was fortunate to have a selection of cars very close to my place which made it very convenient. So far their vehicles are still relative new and in good condition. With this service, i am now reluctant to purchase a car which i dont really need to use everyday.

I hope that Shariot will conduct more promotional events like discounts on hourly rates on certain days and extra credits for top ups of $100 each time.
